The British player reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slam events during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments this season because of a health issue she has been battling in recent days.

At 22 years old was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

She had her blood pressure taken in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the third set versus Zhu because of a lower back issue that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
