The House investigative committee has made public a batch of around 70 images from the estate of deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of more than 95,000 photographs the committee has secured from Epstein's estate. It includes pictures of quotes from the novel Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and redacted pictures of women's foreign passports.

This disclosure occurs mere hours before the 19 December deadline for the Department of Justice to disclose every records associated with its probe into Epstein.

"These photographs raise additional queries about precisely what the Justice Department has in its holdings," said the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What's in the Photos Made Public

Some of the photos released on recently show Epstein conversing with professor and activist Noam Chomsky inside a private jet; Bill Gates standing alongside a individual whose identity is obscured; Steve Bannon sitting at a workstation facing Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the newest high-net-worth, influential individuals to be photographed in Epstein estate photos published by the House Oversight Committee - earlier disclosed images also include US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, ex- US treasury secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Appearing in the images is not evidence of any illegal activity, and a number of the photographed figures have stated they were not involved in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a statement issued alongside the image disclosure, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate did not offer context or dates for the pictures.

"Photographs were picked to furnish the general populace with transparency into a typical cross-section of the images received from the estate, and to provide understanding into Epstein's network and his exceptionally troubling behavior," the statement states.

The release also features a number of photos of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita penned in ink across various areas of a woman's body, such as her torso, foot, hip, and rear. Lolita tells the story of a young girl who was exploited by a older literature professor.

A particular passage from the novel scrawled across a female's torso states, "Lolita's name: the tip of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to tap, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a collection of photos of female identification and ID papers from states worldwide, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the data on the papers, including identities and dates of birth, is redacted but the panel stated in a announcement that the travel documents pertain to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".

Another photograph depicts Epstein positioned at a desk closely in the company of three women whose features have been obscured - one individual has her palm on Epstein's upper body under his garment, and a second is crouching to examine a close-by computer. Epstein can be seen to be aiding the third fasten a wristband.

A further photo released is a capture of digital messages from an unidentified sender who claims they have been supplied "a number of girls" and are requesting "$1000 per female".

Image Release Arrives Prior to DOJ Due Date

The body has thousands of photos in its custody from the Epstein estate, which are "at once graphic and everyday," its statement on Thursday noted.

The Congressional committee first legally compelled the holdings of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.

The photos and files the Epstein estate provided to the body are separate from what is largely referred to "Epstein-related records". That material are papers within the justice department's control related to its independent inquiry into Epstein.

Under the Transparency Act, which President Trump signed into law recently, the DOJ has until 19 December to release its documents. The scope of what's found in the DOJ's documents is unclear, and it's likely that a significant portion of the content will be heavily redacted, comparable to House Oversight Committee documents
