A female charged with stalking Kate McCann allegedly recorded her a recorded message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who court testimony revealed has repeatedly asserted she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February 2025.

On Monday, the tribunal was told communication data and evidence obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over the past two years.

Another recorded message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I just want to discover," the message continued.

The jury was told that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a effort to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the data, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the call data.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months leading up to the visit to that location, that area, in December 2024.
